what a great tutorial, thanks geeg! am going to order mine straight away!
just one question, you say you can file and trim the nail after you take the popits off? would this not break the "seal",and then start peeling??

Everyone has to file gel nails sometime and the 'seal' as you call it gets broken ... It has never caused my nails to peel. Sealing the free edge is mainly to stop shrinkage ... the product shouldn't peel off when the free edge is filed, ever.

Questions with the gel/popit application?? I'm finding that bubbles are squeezing in after I let go of the popit once it's secured by the clip. Am I not filling it enough? I have just tried these on myself so far, and am having a tough time getting the clip on and letting go of the pressure at the same time. Help. . . , I've been searching the Popit threads but, there are way too many.

It is a bit tricky to be sure especially on yourself. Is the clip you are using tight enough? Or try a bit more gel in the PopIt. The good thing with gel, is that you can scrape it off with the PopIt if you mess it up and have another go! It is easier on others than to do on yourself.

Thanks, I'm going to try it again this weekend; I'm sure one of the girls at the shop will wanna be my test subject. Trial and error I guess. The more I look at the ones I did, the more I think I was using too little of the product, they look kinda flat. Maybe I was trying to squish them too much.

Thanks Geeg.

Cheesy

Yeee HAw... onto my fourth ever poppit on myself and not a bubble in sight...!!! I expect some lifting however as there was a bit of seapage.. but the only thing I think or perhaps it is my novice application is that zone 3 is thicker than I would normally apply it.
This is Mega and I doubt many people in Austria are offering these!!!
Happy practicing!

Are you trimming the skirt off the PopIT at the eponychium end of the form? If you do this before application then they will in no way be thick in zone 3 in fact possibly thinner than you normally do them!!

Popits

Hi Geeg

Jst a thought on something to use to hold popit in place for curing.

I thought you could try one of those tiny elastic bands that hairdressers use for braiding or the dentist give people for braces???? If one band is not strong enough then maybe try a few???

Only a newbie at nails doing vctc at college so forgive me if if this is too way out there lol

If you are doing it on yourself, you can also just hold the Popit with another finger, as in that step-by-step tutorial showing popits with gel and nailbed extension with cover pink: Popits et gel, pas à pas

Popits are great timesavers with any kind of tips, even colored ones.

I have not seen a PopIt or used one as yet... but I am slowly getting the picture... sort of... The popit looks like it automatically ( for want of a better word) makes a C curve for you. Is this Right?...
Also I asume Popit are only for a full set?... then you have to do the rebalance as normal?.... Is that right.
I have never even seen them in australia.. or anyone use them.

I do struggle with creating a nice C Curve with my gel.. One of the reasons i avoid it.
Will Sweet Squared ship to me in australia?.
Thanks Again
Mel

Hi Gigi, you may not remember me I met you when you was in Leeds you gave Emma M and I a personal 1-2-1 demo on popIts well I havnt looked back since. I can do them on myself now as well as on clients and the finish is unique, Emma m cant stop looking at them (can you Em ha ha?). Im so glad to have met you and really appreciated the time you spent with us. I am now going to try it with gel so I can accomodate some of my clients who prefer gel, will let you know how I get on, once again many thanks. Karen (Lampers) nickname given to me when I was in college...
