Fabric# Step by Step

Step #1 – The base

The thinner the ‘resin’ the stronger it ‘bonds’ to the nail

Apply one thin coat of ‘BOND’ to all 10 perfectly prepared nails using the brush-on applicator (Leave a small free margin around the soft tissue area). This is the base coat that accounts for the strength of the ‘bond’ and helps to protect the natural nail. Do not ‘over’ apply this coat, as it is important that it is thin. This coat needs no activator – it will dry immediately on contact with the nail plate.

Step #2 – The tip

Apply, shape and blend in all ten nail-tip extensions

Forever French technique

§ Using the liquid acrylic ‘More Than White’, paint on a beautiful French Tip. For an even surface in one coat, paint on ‘loosely’ with a light touch and without ‘dragging’ the brush through the liquid. The quicker you do this, the better the result. If you need to clean up the smile line before adding resin – use a little NailFresh and a brush dedicated for this job. Makes a perfect result. Let dry for a full 2 minutes.

§ Never touch the white to see if it is dry.

Step #3 – The fabric

§ Apply a strip of fabric wrap to all ten nails leaving a small free margin around the soft tissue area. Avoid touching the fabric. Use a piece of the backing paper from the wrap to smooth the strip on to the nail.

§ Trim off any excess material.

§ It is not necessary to apply an extra ‘stress strip’ when using Fabric#.

Step #4 – Fabric bonding

The thinner the resin the more completely the wrap will disappear. The slower you apply the resin the more transparent the fabric will become.

Apply another thin coat of Bond to the wrap slowly and thoroughly filling in the perforations of the fabric as you move from cuticle to free edge. Using a ‘stippling’ technique here is useful. Do not over apply this coat. Apply to all 10 nails. Repeat if desired.

Step #5 – Building

Apply one or two thin coast of ‘BUILD’ with either the nozzle applicator OR the brush-on applicator, to all 10 nails.

Ask the client to make ‘dead spiders’ of both hands and spray a soft ‘mist of Blast activator to the nails of each hand. Spray from a distance of at least 8-10 inches (16-20cm).

When dry (approx. 30 seconds) lightly buff the edges of the fabric using a soft abrasive to make smooth before continuing on to the next step.

Step #6 – Boost

§ Using the nozzle applicator, apply a small bead of Boost to the centre of the nail. Take a loaded brush of ‘brush-on’ Activator and smooth the Resin over the nail filling in any dips that may have been created.

§ WIPE the brush (“three circles to the left and three circles to the right”) on a lint free pad BEFORE returning it to the bottle.

§ Boost’s special controlled releaseactivator dries the resin slowly for a reason. Slow drying gives increased flexibility and toughnesswith no cracking or shattering. Drying takes approx. 60 seconds.

§ If extra shape is required at the stress area, apply another bead of BOOST and use the Brush-on Activator to ‘pat’ the bead into the desired shape. Don’t forget to wipe the brush before returning it to the bottle.

§ Repeat as many times as you wish.

§ When creating a Forever French application, you may wish to add a third coat of Boost to ensure you don’t buff ‘through’ the white when finishing. The better you apply your resin, the less buffing you will need to do to complete.

Step #7 - Perfecting

Do any final buffing needed to perfect shape or shine.
