Okay heres a pink and white set, as discussed in my other critque so that you can better see shape and form rather than design. they are a little dusty cause i wasn't thinking and took a pic before i added oil. they are cnd pure white and a custom blend of cnd warm pink, clear, and blush. I'd really like to get into churning out competition style pink and whtes, but i don't know if thats possible because everyone wants them as short as this picture.... dunno... let me have it.

I like them ,
im not grate at saying how to fix things but i can say what i see, in some places you have filed away the corners of the smile lines and i think maybe spend more time buffing to get a nice high shine? (or use a gel top coat lol) i have noticed with cover colors when they are not shiny sometimes it makes them look a lilly strange once they are buffed they look more glowey , maybe add a pic with a side shot? cos im not sure on apex or shape from hear

well the pix i have are from actual clients, so i'm lacking in the model area. when i find a particularly good set i'll post...people like them the way i do them, but i want to improve so much. I don't only want to be called the best but know that i am with my work.

Ok

I do like these overall they are a nice length...However these do look like a infill/relbalance? As you can see what looks like the old product underneath, which means you need to file the old more flush, also it looks as if you have filed a little too much in zone 3, because on one of the finger you have filed away all the acrylic leaving the natural nail showing! going through the grades of the file to remove the scratches is thats needed smile lines just need a tad tyding up..but hun I like keep going xxx

I think they are a nice length, the pinkie finger looks like its a bit flat but its hard too comment on apex and c curve placement without side and barrel pictures.

For me I think the smile line could be further down the nail, especially if your using coverage pinks or a cb as it would make the nails look more elegant. I keep thinking I can see file lines on them in zone 3, that could be the picture or it could be that they need to be buffed more.

The index finger on the hand with the rings looks at the side like the product might have come away during filing. The picture came up huge on my screen so everything is really standing out. The smile lines could be more even and as already said, you've filed the ears off your smiles here and there. (I do that too at times trying to get the side walls in and a sleek shape)

Thanks for sharing, you'll always get a more complete critique if you post pictures from the side and a barrel shot down the nail.

some smile lines are more like an "s" than a "(" and as it's been said, lack a bit of shine...

for your zone 3 issue, I would suggest perfect practice...
like, you have to master your brush moves so that you won't touch the skin (and so your product won't touch it)
and blending your product in this area is a key thing, whether it is blending an opaque pink to the natural nail or just making it perfect in the cuticle area.

then filing is just a few mins, but you have to master your zone 3 to do great nails.

as for your comment about willing to do competition sets, keep in mind these are for competition and not really fit in everyday life for your clients. have a few models with a perfectly long nail bed, nice c-curve, etc, on which you can practice, and keep your clients with the nail they want, that they can live with.

I also think they look like a rebalance, rather than a full set .... that's cool.

Regardless they look quite nice, I think if you look at pictures of work you truly respect, you will know what needs to improve.

Oddly enough, I am very pleased you took the picture before applying oil, many smother their work with oil .

If you can perfect nails without oil you will only make them look even more perfect with oil, without the need to use it as a cover for uneducated eyes.

Well done
