OK had another go at a custom blend on myself this time, sorry if the pics are not that clear, got very shaky hands today, I did not want to extend my nail beds as they are quite long anyway. I am really trying to get to grips with custom blending so any advice is...

izzy and mum have made great comments, if you are looking for perfection, i'd go for a bit more clarity on the nail bed, it's difficult to see finer details from pictures at times (i've even looked at this picture upside down). I would like to have seen a picture taken from the front, rather than from behind the hand. All you really need for these to be picture perfect (or poster perfect) is minor refinement. I'm gonna be really picky (cause it seems like thats what you are ready for). Shape is good, although ring finger looks a little higher on one side (again, i'd like to see them from the front)middle finger on left side tapers in a little?.Nail bed color has an apricot tinge (again, from pics it's difficult to tell) The cuticle area could have been super-refined (middle and ring finger) to make it completely undetectable.
On the barrel shot, they seem to be a little (i said "little") higher on one side. The free edge color is great, nice and soft. Was this mix meant for sculpts or tips? Remember the tip will add some coloration of it own. I would have buffed the crap out of em with a brand new miracle shine for a real mirror finish. I'd love to see the photo taken as if the nails were being presented (from the front). Hey, they are a dam good set on killer nailbeds. You should be VERY PROUD of yourself. |

Fabulous job Jac! In fact, one of the best custom blends I have seen (apart from Gigi's of course). I have not tackled cb's but when I do I will aspire to as good a job as yourself. Well done!

These are one of the best sets of custom blends i have seen, i love both the free edge colour and the colour of zones 2 and 3 .
The nails that you post are allways of such a fantastic high standard jac they do blow me away, and i love how you are never afraid of keeping the length either. A truely dogs watsits set of nails |

Jac,i don't have any critique to add but i just wanted to say that these are one of the most beautiful, natural looking sets i have ever seen !
You should be extremely proud of yourself for creating such beauty. I'll be getting Tilly Ann to take a look at these for me,i would love something similar for the wedding. Maybe a tutorial ????????????????????? lol ![]() |
