First ever nail critque

Hi guys,

First nail critque...I would be glad of any feedback please. I use NSI Attraction extreme pink with blue glitter (although it's looks green in the photo) hmmm..sorry it's a bit dark also.

I do have one question with this post...on a couple of my nails I have a couple of imperfections on my natural nails and using the extreme pink you can see them through it. Do you think I could add a little pink Masque to the extreme pink or would it make the extreme look weird?

And totally honest about the nails it's fine really.

hi
i think they're lovely honestly!

lovely n thin around the cuticle too, great nails

about the pink mask, i dont think u can mix as the mask has a cream-ish colour and the extreme pink would look wierd with it. i usually only use mask if im bridging a badly bitten nail n extending the look of the nail plate. if u use a mask or veil u lose the gorgeous pinky nail bed.

what are the imperfections like, are they really that bad?
didnt notice any in the pic

Hi Pam,

Thanks for your comment very sweet.

The problem I'm having with extreme is that when I do a backfill/rebalance I can still see slight from the old and new, because the extreme is semi clear...I just wondered if I mix a bit of masque it would cover this better

xx

nice work
the cuticle area is nice and flush with the natural nail and they have a lovely finish to them.
the only thing i would say is from the angle of the pic the balance of the nail ie pink to white ratio they look alittle top heavy.although your smile lines are nice and sharp i think making them abit more 'smiley' would change the look of these nails making them look more 'sleak' if that makes sense?
have you tried the purely pink masque as i really like it.its much easier than trying to mix the pink masque which in my opinion isnt that nice looking as the the purely pink masque.
i have some pics of nails ive done using the pink masque if you want to see it before you buy some, just let me know.x

Hi hun

I had a look at your lovely photo's...they are fab :0)

Is the purley pink...like the pink Masque, where you have to start at zone 3 and work forward?

i think those nails are lovely .can i ask how you find the pinks look with glitter? i normally use clear as im worried the pinks would clash with the colour but yours looks good.

If the imperfections are not really noticeable then the purely pink may even be enough. I have used this on nail biters with a tiny but of opal shimmer to help disguise where the tip joins to the bitten nail and clients are always really happy. I have also used pink masque and just used it as normal like any other powder but did not feather it over the white although on shorter nails i did not really like pink masque. I did these on someone who wanted to keep the length of her natural nails long but did not want her free edge to show through and they were nice as they were longer but i still prefer purely pink.

i apply the purely pink in just the same way i do the other powders.i do zone 1,2 then 3 but theres no reason why you can use it when doing the reverse method.x

do you mean mixing the glitter with a clear or pink powder or just the free edge in glitter and then using a coverage powder for zones 2&3?
i havent tried mixixng a glitter with a coverage powder but i havent found the coverage powders to be a problem with clashing etc.. with glitter on the free edge.x

Hiya

I get some I think next time I need to re-order

I think the pinks look fab with glitter, I think it's makes your nail look nice and healthy..although I would keep it a very light pink. I just get a small bead of clear and dip it into the glitter apply to zone 1, then apply pink to 2&3 each time just lightly going over zone 1. However if you feel you didn't add enough glitter to zone 1 never just add glitter without a little clear otherwise when you do zone 2 all the gliiter gets mixed in...as I have done many a times lol

Nails look great, I agree with the other posts and would like to add the following:
Why use white tips underneath? (to me they look white - if I am wrong - sorry and I take my comment back )IMO clear or natural would look stunning.

I note you said you are having problems with extreme. Try beveling a little bit more of the old product and ensure any lifted product is fully removed. HTH

Andrea,

Thanks for your comments, I'm not sure why I use white tips really...because your right clear or natural would be much better

I try very hard to get the old blended, I always think It's all done then I put new on and I see small amount of old.....Im sure I;ll get there, bit more buffing maybe

Thanks hun x

This is really a personal prefererrence but i think that you would need to curve your smile line more. some customers like straight smile lines but i always think that a curved smile line makes the nail look much sleeker and elegant. the amount of free edge is a bit too much compared to that amount of nailbed that is showing. you could always use an opaque pink the lengthen the nailbed and to achieve the length that you did without compromising on the proportions. all the rest looks great
