Zone 3 and mix ratio?? -
04-11-09, 11:04 AM
I am having terrible trouble with my zone 3. I am finding my product is not sticking in this zone esp just near the epinichium. I know about mix ratio, and pressing etc, I am not getting lifling as the product does not stick, just gaps bigger than should be iygwim. I have a suspicion I am working too wet, but have tried working dryer and cant seem to pick up a bead. I have been having trouble lately and dont know why with my bead sizes I am finding no matter how much I wet my brush I cant seem to get a big bead for my zone one, so I suspect I am over compensating and working to wet. I am using cnd n0 10 brush, I also have #8 and am sculpting on a form. I am using a tiny bead in zone 3,like frosted glass, but find it goes all grity looking and when comes to filing it just files off, some times still bit wet looking.
I am getting really frustrated as I have always been okay with zone 3,, just feel like im going backwards not fowards, iygwim. Thanks geeks |

If you are getting frosting of the bead then you ARE working way too wet and the monomer is evaporating too fast and causing the gritty look.
Use less monomer in that big brush of yours so that you are not adding too much liquid to the bead when you press it. I make the same sized bead for each zone ... I don't tend to use a tiny bead in zone 3. I like to work in a good size zone 3 (half the visible nail bed) and then you wont get into trouble there. PS EPONYCHIUM |

Thanks guys. Lol geeg I always get it wrong ha ha. I might work with bigger space with my zone 3, see if that helps as it is only in zone 3, I think as the space I am filling is tinyier I am getting confused with smaller bead but is too wet, iygwim. Will hava a go this afternoon. Yes I have Nail class, and am removing cuticle then wiping off with citrus soak and water, then remove shine, scrub fresh till squeaky and white, so must be that??
Thanks guys xx |
