A more opaque EZflow pink? - 24-02-10, 03:26 PM

ezflow lovin geeks..... I've been on at custom blends for ages. I can get some really good colour matches to skintones, but they are very very opaque.

What i'm after is something slightly more opaque, or more pink than pink polymer. I don't want something as peach toned as hd cover pink, or aything as opaque as that.

Rather than messing about with mixing bits up in pots (as I know a even a spot of a colour can really alter a small amount of mix) I was thinking about getting a 1oz pink and adding to it.

So, to get to the point.... my questions are....

What and how much would you add to 1oz pink poly to make it slightly more dense a colour, more opaque. Just to cover the ghost line of the free edge when doing an extended nail bed on natural tips.

Also, as a sideline, what and how much would you add to a 1oz natural poly pot to make it a more creamy natural free edge colour?

Both so I have a batch of a standard colour for everyday nails.

Hope i've made sense, thanks so much in advance! Rachael x x

Hi Rachael,

not 100% on the ezflow opaques, but with CND a 2 opaque to 1 transparent pink makes a nice 'semi-opaque' that works well - should be roughly similar... alternatively use this semi opaque for zone 3 and the full opaque for zone 2 ...

Thanks. I've just been to Red10 and the EzFlow natural polymer is discontinued. I have a few ladies who love the natural for just a plain overlay. Advised to mix soft white with pink? I don't know if that will be similar enough but i'll give it a go eh! Gutted!

Here are a couple of recipes for you, hope they help:

Here's Gigi's recipe for CND for a natural white free edge
2 parts Perfect Soft White powder
1 part flawless
touch of yellow

Perhaps just switch out for the first two for the similar in EZ Flow.

Antony Buckley's recipe for natural pink:
5 parts A polymer Natural
3 or 4 parts Pansy ( depending on how much opacity you want)
small amount Wallflower to cut the pink.
