Can I mix brands if adding coloured gels? -
07-04-10, 05:00 PM
Im OPI trained and using all OPI products, I am unable to get on a training course for Axxium coloured gels so am considering trying another brand. It was drummed into me throughout my course not to mix brands but does this apply to the coloured gels as they are surely more of a polish?
If it's ok to mix can anyone please recommend a brand, and do I need to be trained specifically to use it. I can only do training at weekends as my models are school girls, so it's not easy to find courses. Thanks in advance AJ x |

Well it's not considered mixing if each gel is not mixed together, and cured in the required lamp for their system. Often that would mean two lamps, or contacting supplier to hear if one gel is compatible with the other ones lamp... That's what I have learned anyhow xx

This isn't what I would class as mixing brands, that would be using 2 gels from different manufacturers together on one client.
I use OPI Axxium, Brisa Gel, and EZ flow L&P and creative hand and foot care. I also use OPI polish and cnd colour and effects. I use what I personally find to be best for me and do not consider this mixing brands. x |
