Exclaim Minx - Home kit? - 03-11-10, 11:00 AM

Hi Ladies,

So one of my clients told me yesterday that she saw an article in The Sunday Times Style supliment about Minx bringing out a 'do it yourself kit' for consumers to do themselves with hair dryers...... have any of you heard any thing about this?

It did worry me abit at first (especially in the run up to Christmas, as minx will be very popular around then) but know that very few people will be able to apply correctly.

Thoughts.......

I doubt Minx themselves will be releasing this. Its like when you go to the supermarkets and they sell DIY acrylic kits, its rubbish! Clients will see this.

Argos are selling a new rio kit which is a rip off of minx, but the designs and quality is extemely poor. I doubt it will be popular once consumers have tried it.

I saw it, but I don't think it's anything to panic about. You could give the general public professional grade products but they wouldn't be able to achieve great results if they hadn't had training. Sure, some people will be able to achieve okay temporary results, but they'll be back to technicians pretty soonish.

This would be rubbish for techs, becuase clients never understand things like that, I mean who would bother (as a client) saying oh this minx is for the shops this is for professionals etc. If it was a product with a different name saying something like from the makers of minx or likewise it would be different. I think the realy great thing about minx is its very exclusive, and its a real WOW factor product. I know there will be the argument oh you can buy hairdye at the chemist but they still come to us will be used, something I myself have stated in other threads, but I think this would be realy bad for techs. And would cheapen the brand also
