Evening all, a dumb newbie question here - my apologies.
I am currently studying part time, and we use hot/warm paraffin treatments for specialised manicures/pedicures. I am hoping to go mobile when I qualify, and am not sure if I can be faffed to buy a paraffin heater etc. Has anyone had any success with cold paraffin treatments? I'm thinking in particular of this one at Salons Direct (hope the link is allowed). Cold Paraffin Treatment has been developed to provide the ultimate hydration treatment for both hands and feet producing the thermal benefits of paraffin treatment with the ease of cold application and no need for a paraffin heater. Kit Contains: 1 x Thank you in advance for your responses - hope you're all enjoying your Friday evening. |

If i'm honest, if you can't be faffed to by a paraffin heater then mobile isn't going to be for you. The whole thing can be a faff a times.
Taking things in and out of cars/houses, spending your evenings or days off cleaning and sterilising, working more late nights than days (that could be just me but think about it), setting up in strange houses with different layouts every hour or two, the list goes on. I love mobile - to a point - but after a while it can start and wear you down. If you're worried about messing on with equipment at this stage, I'd give it a long hard think before you make your decision. Sorry if that sounds depressing, but its just a small glimpse of reality for you. |

Hi, no that was a good response, and perfectly understanable, thank you.
The faff was more to do with the fact that I'm not sure if people in this area would actually want that treatment, (tends to be more acrylics and twinkle toes etc), so I didn't want to fork out on the heater and then find I'd wasted my money. But, if I bought the cold treatment first, which is only £20ish, and it didn't take off, then I hadn't really lost that much, if you understand. I'm not intending to give up my 'day job' - the nail tech is more a way for me to supplement my income, as I only work part time at the moment, as I have a little 'un and want to be able to take him to school and pick him up, and my job fits in perfectly with that. Going mobile would enable me to make extra money at the weekend and evenings when daddy is home. |

If you want to offer luxury/specialised mani/pedi why not get yourself a pair of heated mittens & booties. I use these & find they are much better, heat up very quickly, & dont require hours to pre-heat. x
