I hope this doesn't sound a silly question, but if you are wearing Shellac, how do you protect your nails when working on a client or using acetone. Would you wear rubber gloves?

As long as they're not the marrigold ones. No seriously, You could wear the latex or clear ones that are used for waxing which would look a bit more proffesional.

I wasn't really going to wear Marigolds. I do have the latex ones so will try those. On Monday I smashed a bottle of polish on my stone floor. Not thinking, I grabbed a bottle of remover, and of course, it was the acetone........shellac ruined! Oh well, it was good practise for me....

Surely acetone will melt the gloves!

I have never had a problem, but then I dont get acetone all over my hands when working on clients LOL. I use the plastic backed handsdown pads.
