Wanting to train in Bio Sculpture and Shellac...am I on the right track?! - 11-05-11, 02:32 PM

Your opinions here would be greatly appreciated...

After thinking about what products to use and where to train, this is what I have decided....Bio and shellac...

Start with the Bio Sculpture foundation course (plus the manicure and gel intro day).

Am i right in thinking if I have done the manicure course with Bio I can then purchase shellac from cnd and will not need training to use it, only thing I would need to buy is the product and lamp?

Am I also correct in thinking if these are both removed by soaking off, there will be no buffing involved therefore when I purchase a desk I will not need an extractor?

I also posted my first thread last night but had no replies so will ask quickly again now....the space I plan to do nails in my home is not near a window so will have no natural light, does this matter at all?!

Many thanks in advance for your help.

Hi,

I also do beauty at home i have two windows in the room but often do treatments at night when there is no natural light (especially in winter) and find it fine, i have got a spare spotlight lamp that i will put on if needed but very rarely do.
I do Shellac and didn't do any training for it, you can find tutorials on the internet that show you how to do it and training for it would be a waste of time in my opinion because it is fairly straight forward.
I don't have an extractor either, you definitely don't need one for Shellac.
Apart from the shellac base coat, colours and top coat you will need:

implements for cuticle removal
Scrubfresh
d.sperse
d.solve
and the lamp.

other people may say you need other stuff but thats all i have and my shellac turn out just fine.
Hope this helps =)

Well, I use Biosculpture and do manicures as well. I took on Shellac and did the course and I can say it was worth it, not so much for the application, but for the background about the product.

Thank you for your replies, that has been very helpful. Didnt think the window issue would be a problem but just wanted to double check!

Rachg - just another quick question if you dont mind as you said you do your treatments from home....any advice on health and safety aspect of things? Did you have to arrange for someone to come and have a look?

Many thanks for your help x

I agree, I trained in BioSculpture and manicures first but think the shellac course is well worth doing.
