Removing Oxidation Caused from Polish - 11-05-11, 02:44 PM

Is there a safer way than buffing to remove the white oxidation that is caused from polish being left on too long on fingernails or toenails? And is there a preferred method for dealing with each? I've been using a buffer to remove it and it works fantastic but I know the damage it is causing.

Suggestions?

I've never heard of nail oxidising...
But I know that nails can get white patches as a symptom of dryness. This can be caused by a number of things - polish, gels and removers all cause some degree of dryness to the nail plate.

I think it's better to use something like Solar Oil than to buff, as buffing is only going to further remove shine i.e the top most layers of the nail plate and it's not a sustainable solution if the problem persists.

Other than that it could be a nail disorder like leukonychia?

Hope this helps x
