French Shellac -
11-05-11, 02:51 PM
Can someone tell me that when doing a french i normally paint the white tip in a downward motion then with a smile line brush dipped in polish remover make a perfect white tip. How can i do that with the shellac? can i paint the tip first? or put the base coat on first but what would i use to dip my smile line brush to clean the white up with on the nail bed, would it be the cleanser not polish remover? Can someone please guide me.

Have you done the Shellac training? This is the kind of thing that is covered on the training session. I found it really worthwhile. |

i was booked to go on it tomorrow however, i haven't had any problems and have had fantastic results of the shellac lasting 4 weeks which only had to be taken off due to the nail growth. So i cancelled and Justine the trainer was pleased with the results that i was having. I haven't had to do a french in the shellac todate but now summer is here, i am more than likely have a request for french so i have placed an order and ordered some yesterday but just if anyone did do the french the way i do it. I know another therapist when she does the bio's., she uses a dual cleanser.

Hi Lorraine - I've been doing some reading on this myself.
Recommendations on the forum are saying use either DSperse or Nail Fresh. By the sounds of it you need to use Nail Fresh very, very sparingly with Shellac smile lines as to not compromise it's adhesion / bond / structure. I've read it's best to have the base coat, then a colour (Negligee, Beau etc) then the white tip so that the DSperse or Nail Fresh doesn't interfere with the base coat. I've not tried it myself, but these are my findings that I'm bearing in mind for when I try it out. I've read Nail Fresh is fine to use to clean up any Shellac on the skin / cuticle area while it's still wet before curing. Hope this helps you out x |

Hi ladies,
I am just starting out with Shellac and loving it too! I did my first french yesterday and it was beeeeeeeeautiful!!! I watched the videos done my the Fingernailfixer on YouTube which helped me no end. Unfortunately I have absolutely NO IDEA how to put a link on here but if you search for Fingernailfixer on YouTube, you are bound to find what you need, plus a whole lot more!Hope it works out for you, happy Shellac'in!!
