Someone did recently, and did a post on it. Try doing a search to see what was said. Personally, it makes my skin crawl just thinking about it.

Unfortunately that link was disabled. Seems cruelty free. Extremely expensive though. Apparently a mani runs $300.

MinX do a lovely snake skin design that is completely cruelty free and isn't yuk either and costs allot less ... , lol

AND/OR

You can do it yourself either by
A) airbrushing
B) coloured L&P and Tulle.... fun thing to do.... (this is my 'first' try at it)

I've seen some done MUCH better than my own. I'm still learning the 'tricks' with that method. But they are fun to do.
