Acetone disposal - 11-08-11, 01:25 PM

Hi, I don't want to sound thick but does anybody know the correct way to dispose of acetone after a client has had their nails soaked off?

You should really have been taught this by your training provider.

You need to soak up the excess acetone using an absorbent paper towel and then dispose of it with your chemical business waste bag, this will go in with things like monomer etc, tie the bag securely to prevent vapours and dispose of in the correct way. Your not supposed to put chemicals in your normal everyday living bin as you can be fined for this. Your local council will give you information on where to dispose of these things correctly and go about keeping business waste separate from household living waste.

Never pour the chemicals down the sink either.

Hi
I use the bedroll to absorb it and then put it in my bin. This is what we were advised to do at college. Hope this helps x

Thanks, I think this was covered as I know to do this with monomer but it obviously slipped my mind as my training was about 4 years ago!

someone should tell our local usa nails that. They are positioned right next to a major bus stop and tip ALL their chemicals down the drain in the gutter. We have reported them so many times but alas they are still getting away with it, god it makes my blood boil.
