successful nail art, but.......... - 31-05-06, 07:24 PM

Hi all,

Did my thumb nail by painting with nail varnish and then glued sparkly small dots on my free edge. Then a coat of varnish and then thought I would seal it with the UV Gloss under the lamp.

Looked great, wore extremely well BUT when I went to file it off It was as though the nail varnish had decided to stay on permanently!

Finally managed to file it all off but anyone have a better way of using the UV gloss without all the hassle as it does seal it extremely well......

Sylvie.

Sorry chick, i ain't to sure what you mean....was it that you needed to file more than you thought you would in order to remove all of the uv gloss..???...to get to the nail art again you would have to file the uv gloss off first....there isn't another way. If i have this all wrong i am sorry xx

uv gloss file off - 02-06-06, 11:08 AM

Thanks for your reply.

I applied base coat then frosted enamel with glitter and paint on tip of my own nail. sealed it all with uv gloss and lamp.

When I went to remove the uv gloss with a file it took for ages and when I had got to the enamel the nail varnish remover would not take off the last enamel at all, I had to file it off! no damage though Its as if the uv gloss had embedded the enamel to my nailplate.

Maybe if I had used a ordinary topcoat then the uv gloss it may have been easier to remove after????????

Regards Sylvie
