Hi...if you actually click on the word greenie in your post it will take you to a great article about them.
A greenie is a bacterial infection....which occurs when bacteria on the nail plate feeds off the oil & moisture there and then excretes...the stain you see is the bacterias excretions ( the article puts this in a more humerous way!)...Obviously proper prep would prevent this...but also if there was any lifting on the enhancement this could give cause for it too... The way to treat it...is to remove the enhancement by soaking...oxygen will act as an inhibitor....then dehydrate the nail plate..I use Scrubfresh a CND product which also leaves pathogen fighters behind on the surface...but you may have another product that you use... Then LIGHTLY BUFF with a 240 Grit..and DISCARD ABRASIVE.....you will not be able to fully remove the stain if it is dark and you do not want to thin the nailplate......Use your Dehydrator/Scrubfresh again....and if you follow proper prep you can put another enhancement on... Basically you are removing the little greenies food (oil & moisture) and if it can't eat it can't poop!.....again read Sam's article he puts it so much better! |

As Izzydoll said perfect! ....But this is what I have heard please feel free to correct if I am wrong.....if it is bright green it's better than dark green or brown....being that bright green means it just started and you caught it before any real damage is done ...and that even though the nail is stained you can apply enhancement over it .....if it is dark green/ brown ...you should not cover at all and air dry it out .....
when I have gotten them before...(from a no good prep mind you ) on myself ..(.in a hurry) |

it may not have been your prep, I have had clients that have had greenies because they have banged their enhancements hard and cracked them causing water etc to get underneath and develop into greenies.
I dont think it matters if its just started or a bit darker, unless of course its been left for absolutely ages and its rotting the nail plate or something |
