Question Sensitive Nails & Fingers - 22-06-06, 01:14 PM

I have a client who has very sensitive nails and fingers, she removed her acrylics and her nails have a slight yellowish tinge to them. She has come to me for advice and wants a new set to replace, as her own nails are not looking too good. I have told her to leave them for a while and use regular treatments and then think about having them replaced she doesnt want to do this! Can anyone let me know which system is best for sensitive nails.

Is this yellow tinge on all of her nails?

Do you mean sensitive as in really damaged due to inappropriate removal?

Has it come since her nails have been taken off or was it there before?

It could be the start of a bacterial infection but now that the nails have been removed, the bacteria will have been killed off and it is safe for you to reapply, make sure your prep is meticulous. If her nails are over sensitive due to being removed inappropriately then a wrap system may be the best. Keep them quite short so as not to put any further stress on the nails.

The stain will grow out.

I think it is probably a bacterial infection as some of her natural nails have lifted on the corners and thats where the yellow tinge is. She said she noticed it appearing under her acrylics. It also looks like she has some nail trauma. Some of the nails are quite low at the sides now do you still think it would be ok to reapply?
