Hi there!
Just wondered if anyone uses any other file/ buffer than koala from creatives to buff in solar oil. I usually use a koala to buff in the solar oil but wanted to know if i could use anything else as i'm getting through them quite quickly so making it costly. Thanks |

I dont buff in my solar oil. I massage it in with my thumb and finger in the area of the matrix and all around the cuticles as the very last thing i do. If the client has polish i put them under the dryer until they are completley dry. They are happy with this as they get their solar massage and completly dried nails

The Koala has a specially treated side for use with solar oil and removes scratches.
When you say you are getting through them quickly hun how do you mean ? Are you getting oil on the worng side ? x |

Dont know of any other files but what i have found is that when I have used other makes of 100/180 files I have regreted it, my NSI and Creative ones last far longer and disifect with far less wear then cheeper files, that old saying is unfortunatly true, you get what you pay for.

Becki, I think she's like me ! What she means is that she is using quite a few rather than knackering them. Because the majority of my business is natural nail care, I go through Koala's like there is no tomorrow and because I only use the 1200 grit side, I feel that it is a terrible waste to throw them away, but after I have used the 1200 grit side up, they are of no use to me. I was taught not to use girlfriend as it has not been specially treated for use with oil.
I know the boomerang buffer has a treated side, but was told it was a gel file. Could someone clarify these two points please ? |

I only use the 1200 grit side of a Koala Buffer or the 1200 side of a Boomerang board for buffing in Solar Oil. Before I use my Girlfriend to give me my final glass like shine..I make sure there is no oil on the nail plate by wiping it with Scrubfresh. As I do think that the oil shortens the life span of your Girlfriend!!! When she is starting to go..I also give the grey side a little wipe with Scrubfresh and it gives her a new lease of life for a while. We all want to get the most from our abrasives & Buffers don't we? As for the original question I definitely think Boomerang boards are the way to go and get use out of both sides....and it is not just for gel...in fact Becki are you maybe thinking of the Boomerang Buffer the lovely spongy abrasive that feels like 400 grit but is actually 180?...as it is the best for Gel. |

I really like the Boomerang board for doing my finishing on L&P as I prefer a hard board for that and I think the white 240 side of this is great for finishing. Then apply Solar Oil and flip my Boomerang round to 1200 and buff it in.... |
