This interests me. And I am NO WAY trying to be argumentative here, not at all. Adhesive sounds far more professional than glue. BUT. . . What is actually the difference between adhesive and glue? Is it just a preference for a different word? I guess not if Vetty's statement above is correct and knowing vetty it probably is lol I googled adhesive, and then googled glue and was re-directed to the adhesive site. Now I really want to know! I can't wait for the next Super Science weekend! |

Here is a reply given by geeg some time ago. I was going to post a link to the thread, but it was one of those that got a bit ugly and some rather sily remarks and lack of facts were posted!!!! So here are the FACTS!
GLUE is an old-fashioned and non-professional term to use if you are a professional nail technician. Glue is made from animal proteins and not used in the nail industry at all. Ethylcynoacrylate adhesives are what we use in the nail industry and they are chemical adhesives and do not contain any animal products. EC Resins are also Ethylcynoacrylate but are not exactly the same formulation as adhesives although they can be used interchangeably if wanted. Resins have added chemicals that increase the flexibility of the product. They are not the same but 'almost'. __________________ HTH |
