Hi I've been using calgel for about 6months and I need serious help with my sculptures. I have used white it is so flimsy it just peels right off after being cured and the clear always yellows. How do u sculpt with the white gel and why is my clear gel always going yellow???? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I used to only work with acrylic Ez Flow and Creative. Gel is a whole new experience. I'm starting to think I should switch brands as Calgel is driving me NUTS!!!

There are a lot of threads about calgel yellowing this too can be overcome do a search and you will find advice. Have you trained with Calgel. It is not the same as other gels apart from bio and really you need to train in it otherwise you will come up against problems. Also when trained you will be able to have ongoing training and help. |

There are a couple of things you can do about the yellowing. There is a superclear gel you can use, calcrystal topcoat to apply afterwards or a purple gel to add to the clear (prob. best to ask Karen at Calgel about this though to get the quantity right!).
How many layers of clear are you doing?? I don't normally find it yellows at all if you only cure for 30 seconds but sometimes i get distracted and leave it in the lamp a bit longer and then it does so the time is cruical. Which white are you using?? You might also find the 01 gel easier than the competiton white as you can use it a bit thicker. |
