permission for working from home as well as mobile nail technician - 17-04-08, 08:33 PM

Hi could any one let me know the rules regarding working from home. I was told in training that you did not need to pay working rates on your home if you did not have a room that just catered for your business? Is this right? Also do I need permission from the council, I telephoned them and they were unsure about procedures and told me to write a letter telling them how many hours I would be working from home and how many hours I would be mobile.
( How long is a piece of string?) I have no idea what hours I will be doing as I have only just set up my business.

I should write and tell them just that and then see what they say. If you find the hours worked at home increasing, then write again.

If you think the person you spoke to didn't know the answer so was just 'putting it off' you could try speaking to someone else. HTH
