Clear or White Tips????? - 11-07-08, 06:27 PM

Hi there,
I think I'm going to buy the essential nails foundation acrylic course, but just wanted to know if the tips they supply are clear or white?? I'm guessing they are clear. But I'm wondering... how do you create the french manicure style when doing a set of nails using clear tips?? Cos when I have had mine done using clear tips, they airbrush the white on... Will i have to paint it on?!?!

Also... when your using white tips... how do you infill them?? Cos surely when they have grown out a bit and its time to get infills, you will have to cut them down shorter but then you will lose the white tip! Does it then have to be painted on?! Sorry guys I must sound like such a beginner (which I am!!!!)

Thanks a lot

Hello Hannah,

With the white tips, they generally last one month depending on how fast the client's nails grow. You would probably do in fills after two weeks and then next time you meet your client you would do a new set of white tips. Or of course if the client wishes you could just paint on the white tip.

If you have natural or clear tips, you could always use white gel/acrylic powder to do the tips which would save you painting them on, and then the rest of the nail you would cover with clear or pink gel. This is also an alternative to white tips.

Hope this helps! xx Good luck!

Hi Hannah,
I did the essential nails course and the nails are natural colour a sort of creamish colour, they do not supply the clear tips because that is a different course. Hope this is helpful

You use white powder. If Using gel, you use a white paint-on or scupture gel.
