I hope you find someone local to you who can help. I'm sure there are some geeks Lincoln way if that is not too far to travel... |

I know what you mean about doing your own nails. Its good practise, but I just dont like doing my own!
Go to someone in your area - hopefully someone near you will pick up the thread What do you fancy? French, colour? You dont have to have a white french - just glitzy colour one? |

Hey hun, I can completely relate to the difficulty doing your own nails, even with over a year of practice mine are still nowhere near acceptable!
From a tech point of view, I would offer every service to men that I would offer to women. Times are moving on peeps and particularly in the past year there has been a sharp increase in mens cosmetics and nail treatments, if a man came to my salon and asked for a full set of tip & overlay using glitter acrylics, I honestly wouldnt bat an eyelid and would be happy to oblige. Men are more "bling" now than ever and I would think it a shame if salons didnt offer their full range of services to men because they thought it wouldnt look right. It's a shame you're not nearer to me hun because I would have loved to invite you in for a coffee and a consultation to see what you want and book you an appointment. There are loads of wonderful geeks on here though so I'm sure you will find someone, and for what it's worth I would do your shopping around on here rather than picking a local salon at random to test, because you can get a lot of background info from here about the tech, their chosen system etc. Happy shopping, remember to post pictures when you get your nails done! |

Hey thanks for the replys, I do my own nails all the time and some of the pics in my album are my nails all glittered up lol I love to experiment but I have to remove them as I work in a hotel (how rude!) anyway I just dont enjoy doing my own as much as I love doing other peoples. I usually have an overlay of l+p just cause they look so shiney but cant be bothered myself haha. x

Work policies like that always make me chuckle - what do they think will happen, will your nails fall off and a customer will trip on one breaking several bones in the process??
If you're looking for something to wear on your nails whilst working, have you tried the "indestructable french"? Basically, its a base layer of translucent pink Gel (I use Brisa from CND), a line of paint on white on the tip, then UV gel topcoat. I've encased a couple of dried flowers in the thumbs and index fingers and it honestly loks stunnung, but you'd probably get away with it for work! I did it because I was tired of my l&p's getting damaged whle I work. My enamel was always coming off when I removed other peoples enamel, I was getting filig scratches in them from when I did rebalances on my clients, and the last straw was getting scrubfresh on them when I did some hollywood toes and they went soft I'll try and get a picture in my album later on. |

I'd be happy to do your nails if I were a little nearer to you. I've done several male clients nails, ranging from clear overlays for extra strength, to full on glitter designs! I offer the same treatments to males as I do to females.
I just wish Dan would let me file his nails, he still insists on biting them
