ouch !!!...first off i would file the rest down to prevent it happening again...
I think a NNO to protect it while the damage grows out wouldn't hurt...i wouldn't sculpt or tip it though. |

I'm not sure really what to say on this one as with your other long long nails, you are going to want a similar length for this broken one no matter what advice is given!!! I know nail techs and how they think!
The nail plate has been so thinned by the trauma of this accident that it really will not support a heavy overlay, and if you do something similar to it again, you really will be in trouble. Could you not try something like building up a bit of support with layers of Resin first .... then buff smooth and then fashion a long stiletto shape with a light weight tip and then a few more layers of resin to smooth it all into one? If a nail like this broke, it would not cause the damage of a L&P or gel enhancement (nor the pain). It is what I would do for you if you asked me to fix it for you. You are probably looking at 5 - 6 months like this with a temporary solution. ![]() |

how the hell did you do that much damage ?
I would do as Geeg suggested, base with a few coats of resin ....... then, lo and behold, I would put a short Popit on it, so you dont have to file or buff. Or better still whack a tip on it , pre shaped with acrylic ...(a prosthetic) using blutack (or a bandaid) as the adhesive until it heals. This looks similar to an MMA nail being ripped off. Made my lasagne swap sides in my tummy. |

thanks for the given adcices
@ gigi you know exactly how the mind of a nailtech works your idea with the resin seams attractive but unfortunately that is the only system i haven't learned think i will just create the nailbed again so it is protected and can grow again |
