I'm thinking, what would it look like to do a slightly shorter nail like this, but use a form (very well fitted obviously) under the tip and extend the clear a couple of mm, so you have a kind of clear "frame" around it? Just another thought.....

Lol Heather, funny you should ask, I have just glossed it up after rebalancing and it is fine. There was no separation and I will definitely be offering this to my clients.

What I also tried was putting the minx on the nail plate and then placing a form underneath and sculpting out the tip, then encased it all with clear and so far that is fairing really well too.

Cool idea!!I have used the clear minx over nail art painted on a smooth nail--make sure anything under the minx is totally dry,it is very very thin so I liked that.

ok i did the minx tips encased in clear l&p with the gold lightening cheetah print- HOLY PETE THEY LOOK FAB! I am taking pics tomorrow and will share- Fiona you are a GENIUS! It was fiddly cutting out the smile line, I think I might use an exacto knife next time. THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS GREAT IDEA! xo

Great stuff, can't wait to see the pics Heather and I agree it is a bit fiddly cutting in the smiles.

I can't take all the credit for this, it was Victoria's idea and I just tried it out.

How about a scissor or punch used in scrapbooking to do a smile line or just some peek-a-boo 's on an entire nail,then overlay with the acrylic??

That is a fab idea you could use a circle punch and just use half of it and that would make a lovely smile line
