What do you think of the brand Aspire (ASP) for acrylics? - 06-01-09, 04:27 AM

I done a set of acrylics today and they turned out horrible. I've done acrylics before with an odorless brand and they turned out great. I recently got the Aspire brand, and I don't want to blame it all on the brand but I would like to think that I'm better at doing acrylics than what I did today! Please help me!! What's the best brand you've used for acrylics and what do you think of the brand Aspire?

Hi

I've not heard of this brand before, but just googled it and seen it's distributed through Sallys is that right? It doesn't seem to come up on UK pages.

Which system did you train with originally as your profile doesn't say. x

I trained with O.P.I acrylic system in school. And yes, the Aspire is from Sallys. I did use the trial kit of an odorless system and went back to Sallys to get some more because I really liked it, (even though the nails fell off days later, the brand was really easy to use) but they didn't have anymore. So I just got the Aspire, which turned out really bad.

i dont think it would be the brand, more likely to be your inexperience using it.

really if the nails are dropping off after a few days even with a product that you found easy to use, i would suggest that you need to get in some more training/practice.

stick with the aspire kit you have and either take a conversion class or a referesher session with your trainer.
maybe go over your course manual and really try to digest the information you have. as you become more experience you will understand more the reasons for doing things a certain way.
try and get as much practice as possible once you've run through the correct procedures and hopefully things will improve with every set you make.

there are also some good tutorials on this site, in the navigation bar. hth.

Can i ask why you changed from OPI? I'm just curious as you've been trained to use the brand. Isn't Clarite an odourless system, if that was the reason? And seems quite reasonably priced.

Yes, I did train with O.P.I but I didn't like it at all. I practiced with it everyday for 3 months and I just didn't like it. The odorless system I used that I liked is from Beauty Secrets.
