UV Gel that you Heat UP - 18-06-09, 02:45 PM

I have a new client who mentioned that she had her gel nail enhancements applied by a technician who heats the gel in a microwave. She mentioned that it appears very hot. She continued with the process; that the technician applies several layers then a top seal coat. Each layer is cured in a UV Lamp. It had been 3 weeks before she came to me for a rebalance. She was shocked that I did not heat the product. I use Creative Brisa Gels. Her nails looked great when she came to me. No lifting. They were hard and strong. What product was this gel that needs to be applied by heating first? Should I remove a product on a new client and start fresh to prevent any service break down from one product to another? Thank you.

i dont think any gel needs heating before use and i wouldnt think it adviseable .
i would think that it was done to warm the gel to make it more runny to use.

your brisa gel would be fine to use on top im sure.

p.s were you at amy beckers class in orlando ?
someone mentioned this there as well.

I used to go to a nail salon where they placed gel on a radiator to heat it up before application. I know of the gel company they use and the company doesn't instruct techs to heat the gel before application - they were just doing this on their own. I asked them why they did and they said it made it easier to use. Could be a similar case here - a tech doing something for her own personal preference.
