Advice on next course to take? - 02-07-09, 10:26 AM

Hi i am currently a mobile nail technician and also do spray tans . I am goign to the nail art course at the end of july and possible the tinting and perming course just after that. The thing is im not sure that that is the best course to do next as i am mobile and patch test are required and also could end up travelling to a client and the spend is not that much. for those of you who are mobiloe what treatments do you offer and what do you thin would be the most popular for clients after nails and spray tans.xx

Definitely manicure and pedicure. Lash tints are really popular and so is waxing.
With the tint test I try to test everyone, even if they just have mani's.
You could always just charge a call out charge just to cover your petrol or put this price onto the actual cost of the tint.
I don't find perms very popular with my clients but this could be different for you.

I forgot to mention lashes! Everyone wants them x

thanks for your reply. i do manicures and pedicures although very rarely get asked for them being mobile. how much does the eyelash extensions treatment cost, i always wondered if people would be willing to pay for that?i will probably do the tinting anyway then thats something else under my belt. im off for the summer so want to get some training done asap to give me some more to offer and hopefully get a bit busier xx

Lash extensions. Great profit, and sit in nicely with nails and tans, as clients often have a couple of different treatments together that have the quick and instant effect they want.

The best course I found is with xtreme lashes. Little on the steep side but its two days intense training and you leave so much more confident than 1 day courses. There products are pretty amazing too.

It will be a great treatment now, but when the recession is over I think many women will be flooding back to pamper themselves and is a treatment to watch!

Waxing definately. A lot of people find having waxing at home really beneficial as its more private at home etc, they can just pop their dressing gown on etc and they dont have to walk around with red bits I do mobile and find waxing to be very popular.

I paid circa £150 for the kit and the training was free!
The girl i took as model on the day was sporting various different designs on each finger. She works in a small village post office and in one day of wearing them i have had 7 bookings through her.
The same day i did training i also put some on my toes. Every client that has seen them has chosen their design and booked in for them.
I've made my money back and more in less than a week!!!
I'm currently doing them at £20 . I know some people are doing introductory offers of £15 to promote it.
Due the the season I am also considering offering a discount when booked with a spray tan.
