How about doing a few animal print designs. Paint the nail white then use a striping brush dipped in black to paint on horizontal stripes.

Use a dotting tool to dot on simple flower designs, maybe add a little rhinestone in the middle.

have a look at the EN threads for the nail art course. There are some really simple but nice designs.

If not, invest in a konad stamping kit. They are really good especially for quick and easy designs.

how about some foil? or striping tape? not exactly free hand painting i know but if you "paint the foil adhesive in patterns the affects can be stuningm also less chance of kids smudging it,if you use a quick top coat,

like sarah said animal print is always fun , paw prints, hearts dots dotted flowers, or get a cople of striper pens and do some stripes and fliks can look grate , quick + easy ....

Konad nail art stamping could also work out great as it doesn't require long application times.

There are some party, animal, children related image plates available.
