I have never heard this before and neither do I understand why this could not be possible? In fact, I would say that it would be essential to use an oil be it Calgels, solar oil or any other good treatment oil after gel application. The prep involves dehydrating the nail plate and this lost moisture needs to be replenished when the enhancements are complete. I always use oil on my clients nails post treatment and have never experienced problems doing this. I apply hand cream as well so my clients leave my salon with soft, moisturized hands and fingers . Solar oil can be used with any good gel system, just as Calgel oil could. I am currently using NSI nurture oil with my Calgel overlays. |

[quote=Mrs.Clooney;960595]Sorry, but why do you say that treatment oils for the nails could not be used with Calgel for 24hrs after application?
I digged out my notes and I have written " no cuticle cream/oil for 24 hours to allow gel to cure properly" also "treat as baby nails for 24 hours". I was given this information by the trainer, was I given the wrong information? I have a refresher course next week so I will ask again, I know it is a different trainer. |

By the way, Calgel is cured properly (clear after 30 secs and colour after 3 mins under a UV lamp), so don't understand why your notes would mention the 24hours for the gel to cure properly?? Mystery to me, but I hope your post has cleared this up for you. Enjoy your refresher. |
