NSI Tips.... Which is the best??? - 16-09-09, 09:01 PM

Okay... im really not sure what tip i should be using for a full set of l&p
Ive used french fins a few times but when people see that they have a little lip on them, they are like whats that???? Do you think its better if i use a white elation tip or a french white tip?
What do all of you guys use? I just find with the french fins, it makes the nail wider... i dont know how to explain it lol...
also if you just apply a white elation or french white, do you always apply with white acrylic and then `pink over the top. Or do you just apply pink as it is alot quicker that way. By just applying pink, does that make it hard to do a backfill/rebalance etc... as when the white tip grows, theres not much you can do then can you?
I need help please, as my educator is away at the minute
Please help me as i have a full set to do tomorrow!
Sarah xxx

I don't use white tips as i have rarely seen a natural nail that can carry them off without them looking stumpy.

I use my white gel/powder to create a french finish.

This way re balances are easy...i just file off the white and re-do it covering the natural smile line.

I have been NSI trained but i don't use their tips as the only ones i liked they discontinued!! I find the Elation tips too thick - if you can get some french white ones use them. Also with regards to using all pink, this is definitely not a good idea as if you are using white tips you will dull the crisp bright white colour and i'm pretty sure if the customer has asked for french white then they won't be happy if it looks a pinky-white! Use clear over this part if your using tips and then you can either carry on with clear or then use pink in zones 2 & 3.

i would use a natural tip and apply my white using brush on white gel by nsi this is just like a nail varnish but 100x better.
i dont use white tips unless requested by the client,i have some pics in album that may help you.x

Hi there i have a pick in my profile with White tips from PRO IMPESSIONS and NSI Sheer Pink all over it don't dull the tips. If the client has a longer nail bed i don't think looks stumpy, however if they are short will look out of balence and stumpy. Sculpting a new smile line would really be the only option or sculpt the full set to begin with? Or do a natural set with your natural elation tips and polish a french on afterwards?? Hth's Becci.
