Beauty | Getting Beach Ready Costs More Than The Holiday Itself -
31-07-12, 01:59 PM
According to a survey carried out by Debenhams, UK women are spending more money on getting beauty-beach-ready than they are on the holiday itself. Women are spending an average of £472 on a range of treatments which is more than the price of a seven night trip to the Costa del Sol!
The survey shows that spray tans, manicures, pedicures, waxing and eyebrow tinting are the most popular pre-hol treatments. It also revealed that UK women spend almost eleven hours in pre-holiday beauty preparation - the same time it takes to fly to Mexico. According to the results, holiday beauty prep starts three weeks before with hair cuts and massages and ends the day before with waxing and spray tans. Sara Stern, Debenhams' spokesperson says, "The shocking weather we've had so far this summer means women want to treat themselves even more as they prepare for their breaks - many of us haven't even been able to bare our legs this year so a spray tan is definitely up there on the priority list. "Our survey results show that even for a one week holiday, women are prepared to invest serious money and time into looking body-beautiful on the beach...three weeks of preparation for one week in the sun is obviously worth it to British beauties." Seems like a lot to me...what say you? Until then...geek on! The Ed. |
