Just a quick note to inform those that have had difficulty this morning with the site being unresponsive that the situation is being dealt with.

Upon investigation, rackspace have informed me that some dim wit had started an attack on the server. This will more than likely happen again throughout the day until the culprit is full identified and blocked. If the site seems unresponsive, please be patient and give it a break for a few minutes. Panicking geeks constantly hitting the refresh button hoping for some response from the site sadly compound the problem

As soon as the culprit IPs are isolated, we will be able to get back to normal.

Do they not understand us geeks have an uncontrollable addiction?

We need to "Geek" and when can't we start to shake uncontrollably, start hissing and foaming at the mouth and some of us even start growing hairs on the palms of our hands!! (Or is this just me???LOL)

Please who ever you are leave our site alone and leave us in peace....

I did wonder where these hairs came from - thanks for clearing that one up. The shakes are terrible - I keep spilling things LOL.

What does it mean that someone has started an attack on the server....what are they doing and why would they? Don't understand these things!
