    Best training/long term kit

Acylic brands are a personal preference thing, the big ‘cult’ brands at the moment being glitterbelles and CJP. I personally like naio and ugly duckling, abd training the with essentials nails one i really dislike. The problem with acrylic is that the majority of brands (quite rightly) will...

    New nail tech questions

It’s good practice to use a new one per customer, I’ve got a few I use for myself though that I’ve had for quite a while! I really like the zebra files from salon services (or Capital) they seem to last better! Or the 100/180 boomerang files from salon services too - the 100 side means you can...

What is your favorite acrylic system to use?

I really like naio and ugly duckling! I have tried light elegance’s line (wanted to switch to all one brand for gel and acrylic) NSI and essentials nails but naio and UD still win.

    eFile recommendations please

The saeyang ones are great!! The k38 & k35 use the same fantastic handpeice (it’s really well balanced and smooth) the k35 is the corded version, both are rated as the same power, and are really very well regarded! (To the point where a couple of branded efiles are made by saeyang, just a...

    Nail pigment/glitter

So with encapsulating glitter and such - acylic powder and liquid needs to be the same brand (with the prep too) But, glitter is glitter, as long as it’s cosmetic safe. Stores such as glitterplanetuk , theglitterfairy, naio, nailtechnetwork, all do glitter safe for putting in acylic :) However...

    ‘Fake’ stamping plates

There is 2 moyou - moyou fashion and moyou London, I haven’t had any issues with moyou London plates. However I have some moyou fashion ones I got from olympia beauty last year and some of the plates straight won’t pick up! Tends to be the finer designs, but tried different polishes (I have a...

What are you charging to remove CND Shellac Luxe?

I’d build the price of removal for it into your price, it’s not a time intensive process so it can’t cost much :)

Is there such thing as over curing?

So say for instance your doing a set of gel extensions, the first nail might essentially end up being cured 5 times? And that’s before you’ve added layers of colours and top coat? So how would you know if you’ve under or over cured your product?

The best gel base and top coat?

Agreed with above, the base and colour coats need to match, as does the top for the system really, bluesky is a perfectly fine brand (they are actually starting a professional only line too), opi is nice, I actually find Gellux sticks like nothing else, and cans shellac is nice, on here yourll...

    Gellux removal nightmare

I have found that Gellux kinda crumbles, rather then flakes - it’s a right nightmare. I know it’s not by the book to mix brands but I have used opi base and top on other brands of colour and found it made it much like the opi to remove, but I wouldn’t do this on clients as you don’t know how...

Shellac or alternative gel polish brand?

No more then 10 mins with foil wraps usually! My clients know opi is the best for removal (as most do itthem selves) so tend to gravitate towards it!

    Budget E-file recommendations?

I believe the cube is the budget version of the k35 which is a marvellous efile, the hand pieces on these files are awesome, such little vibration and a perfect weight! I really recomend something like that if you can afford!

    Efile training, Kent?

Amanda greaves (look her up on Facebook) is an educator in Croydon (which is around an hour from Maidstone) she runs regular efile courses (and 1 to 1 training) very well regarded too.

Shellac or alternative gel polish brand?

I have some shellac, but I also have OPI, OPI works beautifully, and still removes easily with a light buff to the top coat seal. I use the Bond Aid with my clients who struggle with keeping it on and it works well. I also have Gellux and bluesky - Gellux is a pain to remove in 90% of cases...

    Nicelypolished.co.uk genuine?

If it seems to good to be true it usually is..... I haven’t used that site, but if a site is more then around 10% or so cheaper then the main stockists then act causiously - especially when you talking about nail products, always best to buy from a reputable supplier.

    Kupa Manipro passport e-file?

Suzi uses a mixture between one of these, and an ugly duckling branded saeyang k35

I have electric orange, fine vermillion and Santa red? Santa red is blue sky but the other 2 are CND?

    UK Beauty Schools?

I did uv gel polish, and luxury manicure with them, the gel polish course was pretty good, if you can paint nails well, the course will teach you the method for gel polish, check your safe and allow you to get insurance in order for you to start working on people and building your skills. Same...

    NSI doesn’t like me?

I had that happen when I first started.... I was trying to be frugal with monomer and pour it back in the bottle... took a couple of times, but then it stopped setting properly, took a while to work that out though. At least they are going to get you some replacement stuff, I’d be very careful...
