ok, if I use my old pc - windows xp - and click on the quick reply icon, my cursor just goes straight to the empty box below for me to type in (am talking about this site btw)

but if I use my new pc, vista, the empty box automatically has the above posters last post in a quote, which I then have to manually delete.

Also on my old pc, if I posted a post, then hit back, it would take me back to the contents/index page, but now on my new one it takes me back the reply box! aaargh!

mine is doing exactly the same but i am running windows xp not vista although i ahve laoded office 2007 but cant see that it is that causing the problem. its driving me mad and i ahve to say ic annot be bothered to post as much

aaaaaaaah maybe it's to do with the site then rather than vista itself? I know what you mean about not being arsed to post as much, its driving me mad!

I have windows vista...and no problems with it...

Ive just brought a new laptop ,not getting any advice from anyone just brought it now regretting it as its Vista ,my phone and printer aint compatable to it ,all my nail info i downloaded on to a disc from my old knackered windows xp laptop ,cant open the disc ,internet takes ages to connect,gtrrr tecnologue,wish id never brought it,tried loading a windows xp disc onto it too still no joy,waiting to speak to me brother in law other wise its going on ebay!!!!

well i have never ever been able to use quick reply ever, it ont let me type in the box, whether i use my pc windows xp or laptop vista, but i have noticed the back thing takes me back to empty reply box not last page etc

Ive just got Vista and its driving me crazy.......Its like learing the PC all over again lol

Microsoft see a disk which turns your Vista computer back into an XP computer. Nice to see they have faith in their product isn't it?

I've got vista, and I can't use quick reply I have to press new reply but it doesnt do the quote thing.
I then click back button twice and go back onto the menu.

I'm using Vista, It seems to work fine for me?

The Quick Reply box is greyed out by default, so to use Quick Reply, I just click the third box (with the v) on any other post which activates it, then I type & hit Post Quick Reply. If you hit Quote it will open up a new window with that persons post quoted.

well when I hit that quick reply button (as I have just done) it takes me to this box with the previous posters quote already on it. It never used to do that with my other pc.

do I need to uncheck any of those additonal options boxes, about parse text or something? xx

btw when I have finished typing I can only click on either submit reply or preview post.....

That's normal... you can either go straight ahead and post your reply, or preview it before posting, that lets you make any changes before hitting submit.
