There's no reason why your friend can't register on the site on your computer, we have many members who share the same computer as other members.

What is the problem she/he's getting? Is it not being able to post on the site? If so then she/he needs to follow the steps in the email they've received (it might be in their bulk mail folder), they won't be able to post anything until their email address is confirmed.
