What software are you using to save the picture, and in which format?
You should ideally save photos in JPEG format (.JPG) - and most graphics software allows you to set the "compression ratio" for the image - if you increase the compression, this will reduce the file size of the image (i.e. how much space it takes up on the web server) - so you should then be able to get an image of a reasonable screen size that will still be small enough to upload... however if you compress the image too much then it can noticeably start to lose quality and look a bit "blocky" or "smeary"... |
