Hmmm....
If you do "ping salongeek.com" you get the IP address 83.138.166.117 If you do "ping londonaquarium.co.uk" you get the IP address 83.138.166.4 If you do "ping sarahapp.co.uk" you get the IP address 83.138.166.117 So... It would appear that salongeek.com and sarahapp.co.uk both share an IP address (the reverse DNS of which is server.hospitalityonline.co.uk) as they are both on 83.138.166.117 And the London Aquarium looks like it might be on the same CIDR sub net as salongeek.com and sarahapp.co.uk (as the IP address for all 3 sites starts with 83.138.166.*). In the case of trying salongeek.com and getting sarahapp.co.uk it might well be a question of the HTTP headers getting a bit confused (as if you run several web sites off the same IP address then it is probably using something called "virtual hosting" where the web server decides which site to serve up based on the "headers" sent by the Web browser in the HTTP request - that's what I do here on my Apache web server). And in the case of getting the London Aquarium instead of salongeek.com, it could be something getting seriously spangled at the router at the web host that is responsible for handling the 83.138.166.* subnet... Hope I'm not being overly geeky lol |

LOL thanks, I just *had* to check that out though as I had a funny feeling it might be something to do with IP addresses and networking
Guess I am also Sad Network Geek lol Guess it's what comes of spending far too much of my spare time messing about with Linux servers and re-programming my Linksys wireless router... |

LOL
The Linux server is just a PC that runs Linux instead of Windows. It just sits in my back bedroom all day serving up websites (and eating electricity for breakfast lol). |
