It may only cost that amount per client but what needs to be remembered is the initial outlay and ongoing training and product costs.
I have had this arguement with many nail techs over the years who have charged rock bottom prices and have used the arguement that it only costs x amount per client so why charge more...I always stick with my (higher) prices because I factor in all the training, which has always and will always be ongoing, the fact that I use high end products and the fact that I am offering a high end service which clients are more than willing to pay for. The same can be said to treatments such as permanent make up....it only costs a fraction of the hundreds of pounds people pay to have it done and yet people seem to forget the thousands it costs to get set up in the first place and the constant updating of your pigment range etc....I have seen advert for people charging as little as £50 for eyebrows and it makes me scratch my head in wonder why they would do that. I completely understand that it hard in some areas to charge in the region of £100-£120 if other techs are only charging £45...whatever you charge I would make it clear to clients the VALUE of what they are getting, let them know that they are lucky to be getting the service at such a reasonable price.... xx ETA - This post wasn't aimed at any one geek, just my feelings on service pricing xx |
