Agree with Emily and think you are probably snapping the hairs off.
2 weeks is too often to wax and you need to leave it 4 weeks really. You really can't get a proper stretch especially on underarms so it's very easy to snap the hairs. Just because you are dark doesn't mean you have to wax every 2 weeks. If you wax every 2 weeks, you will always have to wax every 2 weeks. Leave it 4 and you will notice a difference. Personally i would never do my own underarms as you can't get a good stretch! |

thing is, i'm really self concious about my hair because i really am VERY dark and even have to wax toes, fingers, back of my hands, top lip, literally EVERYWHERE. I always find its grown enough in a fortnight but I can't bear waiting 4 weeks!!
I think I must be snapping the hairs then because obviously with a hollywood wax you're pulling the hair toward yourself i spose? |

It will grow a lot quicker if you are snapping the hairs off. You can still break the hairs below the surface so it may not look as if they have snapped but they have, then they will grow quicker than if you have pulled them out by the root.
Why don't you go and pay someone to do it and see if you notice a difference in how quick it grows back |

You should try to leave it 4 weeks between waxes. Then the the hair will become so much sparser.
My friend cannot stand any pain and always shaves everything. Her underarm hair is coarse and black. I convinced her to let me wax them. When I pulled the recently shaved hair out, the wax looked like a brush......covered in strong hair. When it grew back, it was sparse and fine.......after just one wax. Then she decided that she can't stand the pain afterall so goes back to shaving. Back to the thick black hair. Then she decided that she would endure the pain and let me wax her again. Voila! Fine, sparse hair again. In theory, shaved hair shouldn't affect the roots or the growth....but it blooming does. Sorry to digress.......just thought I'd share. |

I had a similar experience with my own underarms last month. I usually do my own, but for some reason had trouble last time. I had virtually no hair free time, and they seemed to grow back in a matter of days. I'm sure I just snapped most of the hair off at the skin line, a lot like shaving. No wonder the hair came back so quickly!
I'm getting someone else to do them from now on. |
