Never tried numbing spray - except before by belly button was pierced and I'm bloody glad they used it then!! LOL!!

I think it hurts most the first time, as never waxed/ after shaving the hairs are tougher. Waxed hair grows back much finer (and without the spiky shaved feel!) so when you do it a second time it's less painful.
Don't have waxing done around your period, as this apparently is more painful - don't know why though. I know some people take Ibuprofen an hour or so before they have waxing done and have said it helps.

As for plucking your eyebrows, do it after you get out of the bath. the steam from the bath opens the pores and supposedly softens the hairs, so it's less painful. Also, stuff like eyebrows, the waxing is quick whereas plucking is more prolonged. I prefer to have mine waxed but usually end up plucking them 'cos too lazy to book waxing session!

I had it done the other week....My Hollywood and although a bit painful at the time, I wasn't embarrased as the girl was so so quick and very professional. I feel a bit embarrased sharing those details with you all, but I though you would want to hear it wasn't that bad. Pain and then its gone!!! I swore a little bit. but not a lot and at one point I wanted to push her off, but again, temporarily. 15 mins it took!!!

Anyway, I think we have verged on toooo much detail here so....good luck anyone who has it. I'm going to keep it up as it won't hurt as much next time.

I have had a Hollywood done on me, never again, I actually screamed. Everything removed and soooooooo painful.


Brazilian, ouch, but not too bad.

I don't think the Brazilian includes the under carriage so to speak, just a think strip at the front and all hair removed around bikini line wherever that maybe!

we get asked for brazilians at my salon a lot, I have only done one hollywood.

This will make you laugh, a guy came in yesterday for a brazilian. Got the shock of my life when he stood there in yellow lacy ladies nickers.

Oh my god, he even asked me to wax his butt - nooooooo chance, what a weirdo.

This is great- I attempted a Brazillian on my self We were going to Hawaii, and I wanted to look tidy on the beach. I used a microwave warm wax, so I laid out some plastic on the floor of the kitchen just in case i spilled, took off my knickers (undies in the U.S.) figured out my shirt would get in my way so I lost that too, then I discovered I wouldn't be able to see my "under carriage" so I got out the hand mirror (you should have a good mental picture by now, I'm nearly naked sitting on the kitchen floor with a mirror propped so I can see to apply wax) and my husband comes home . His response whas "What in the H*#L are you doing? I however cannot look up because he has caught me in the act of applying and I really didn't want to get anything stuck. I answered as calmly as I could, but I became hysterical, and ended up laughing so hard I nearly peed. The pain was tolerable, but I will never do THAT at home again!! I'm just lucky he didn't have one of his brothers with him....I never would have lived that down!!!

I still do my own legs, under arms and eye brows, but I leave the undercarriage to the professionals!!

PMSL Jeni- that was soooo funny, the things our blokes have to put with seeing. Honestly.

We were off to Corfu last year & i asked my partner to do mine for me, got the couch out etc etc, so im sprawled legs everywhere trying to teach him which way to put the wax on & which way to pull the strip off- took hours (& he got it stuck so i had to cut it off) he was so worried about hurting me bless him, needless to say he will NEVER do it for me again. Think it scared the living daylights out of him. PMSL

She said that you have to get on all fours????? Funny, but I was talking a friend yesterday and she said the same, she'd heard from other people that you have get on all fours????

Anyone else had this whilst 'having theirs done'? News to me - I'd DEFINATELY be put off if they'd asked me to get on all fours!
