*panic panic* tanning! -
09-12-11, 11:01 AM
Just had a client message me. I sprayed her last night and she has just messaged me that the tan hasn't taken at all on her right arm and hand. Now I remember spraying it because I was a bit worried that I was over spraying her arms. She was on the pill so I mentioned that it could cause the tan to go patchy, but a whole arm?
Now she has informed me that she has a "do" tonight any ideas what I can do? thank you in advance |

Ive asked her to pop around so I can see and I will respray her. Ill barrier cream the tanned bits up and mist her over. She needs to be out of the shower by 5 so wont have the full 8hours development but hopefully wont look too bad

Right shes all patched up and on her way again, it was just on the outside of her arm so im wondering if she has swiped her arm on the way out of leaned on somethign on the car journey home. I make sure they are dry before leaving the tent.. but she seemed happy enough

Its easy to take things to heart, but just remember if you remember spraying her arm & you checked her over & you was happy with the tan before letting her out the tent then it's not your fault!
Clients automatically thing it's us that have done wrong. There not educated like us tanners so they have no idea what affects the outcome - such as taking medication, showering too early, sweating, sleeping with there hands touching there body! etc etc.. They just think it's our fault! lol xx |

Hi, always include in your aftercare advice whether verbally by leaflet; that they have to be very careful when sitting down or leaning after the tan. We all sit with are arms on the sofa/across the kitchen units etc...I had several ladies say the tan on the outer part of the arm hasnt taken, when we chat about posture etc this is always the culprit, it used to happen to me til the obvious culprit dawned on me sat watching t.v after a tan one evening!
Also, crossing legs, tucking legs underneath you sat down, all habits we still do with a developing tan on! Also, one word of advice the gels type satin cremes in aerosal dispensers that you apply to remove body hair - spray tans HATE these products! Patchy, lower legs, or legs that havent taken, lighter forearms etc (if client shaves these areas as well, which a lot of my younger female clients do) can all be the result of these types of hair removal products. Probably not down to your technique at all, very strange as just in the one place, have every faith the client has done something to trigger this no doubt, be confident , respray the area and just confidently explain a few reasons why this can happen. lyn x |
