Hi Anne,
Microdermabrasion is great for this type of skin complaint. You can use it to target specific areas if you do not wish to treat the entire face.Although you may wish to, as it also fab at reducing those little wrinkles.

There are several types out there but the system I am familliar with is the Bio microdermbrasion system. This uses fine crystals patted on to the skin and then "sucked" off with a vaccuum that also "drags" the cystals along the surface of the skin to remove that dead surface. This process will eventually leave your skin brighter, firmer and reduce any dark areas.
Depending upon skin type the process can be carried out on the skin twice in one session.

A course of six treatments is reccomended to get the best results. Usually takedn once a week.

I have pigmentation just above my left cheek bone. I recently bought the Decleor aroma whitening kit & it had started to work but as my skin is quite oily it didn't agree with the products but had I not had an outbreak of spots id have continued to use it.

If you have a stockist near you then see if you can get some samples

That's hypopigmentation and nothing can be done to correct it other than camouflage makeup

Nimue do great products and facials for Hyperpigmentation that I've had great results with my clients. However you have to remove the trigger for it to really work ie sun, the pill (hormones) etc.

There is a form of fungus that presents like this, it's commonly called something like 'sun fungus' because it shows up more on tanned skin.

The white patches could be vitiligo, this is a condition in which parts of the skin have lost their pigmentation.Watch out because if this is vitiligo then great care needs to be taken as these areas can burn very easily.HTH

The best traetment of all would be lazer treatment,I have a client who has pigmentation on both cheeks, also brown spots on her hands. She has spent an absolute fortune on different products including Glycolic acid based, she has recently had lazer treatment and you only need the one treatment.I am amazed at the results,no pigmentation.I am quite naturally tanned and every year I get quite pronounced pigmentation on my cheeks I shall definately be investing in lazer treatment.HTH

Hi

I would say a course of Nimue too! or a course of CACI Ultra, will help to fade, We have pictures of clients before and after and even after 1 treatment you can see a huge defference.

HTH

i have (in my opinion) bad hypopigmentation - looks like i have the preggers mask on, and its getting worse, the older i get, im in the process of finding an essential oil blend for it (apart from lemon oil) nothing is working at the moment, so find myself giving me a spray tan to camouflage it

The trouble is with semi permanent make-up is it fades after several years,so wouldn't you be back to square one?
I personally think clients are far better off removing the pigmentation via Lazer treatment forever, then preventing it from returning by using total sun block, rather than disguising pigmentation only for it to show again once the semi-permanent make-up fades.
Pigmentation usually fades in the winter and can become quite prominent in the summer, therefore, how would you know how to get the make-up colour to disguise the pigmentation fully?A client could come for semi-permanent make-up to disguise her/his pigmentation, then the pigmentation could become lighter, darker (depending on time of year)and then the clients semi-permanent make-up would not be of a suitable colour to match that of the skin. How is this dealt with?
I am very interested in pigmentation issues as several of my clients have this problem as I do,one of my clients has had quite drastic lazer treatment done all up her arms and her hands because she had age spots/sun spots.Another has had her hands done and the pigmentation has finally gone, following lazer treatment. She has spent thousands on different treatments and this is the only treatment that she has found that truely works.
Obviously in the future these clients will have to make sure that they wear total sun block as the pigmentation could return with exposure to the sun and then the whole cycle starts over again.
I would welcome any comments on this subject, and of the semi-permanent-make-up covering stretch marks as this is another common problem.Thankyou.

regular calamine face masks are good for calming down red marks and using camoflage make up.

Pigmentation is very very common for those who have just given birth, are pregnant or have just started taking the pill because of all the hormonal changes that are happening to your body. from what i know, there is not alot you can do about it but dont worry, it will go away on its own!!
