I had paraffin wax on my face ages ago when we learnt it in college, the lecturer did it on me, it was just normal paraffin wax, teh white stuff, it was applied after the massage using a gauze and thats about all i remember apart from the pain of it burning me! I told her it was hurting but she kept on applying the stuff! My face was red for days after, i think ive been mentally scared lol i've been working for 6yrs and i dont know a salon around here that offers it as a treatment.

I know a few people that offer Paraffin wax on face but personally I am too scared coz I think I may burn them! lol. I was so stupid at college as I asked the tutor if you put paraffin wax on the face would you have to wrap their face up?! lol Obviously not! I felt like a right doughnut! I will stick to the hands and feet!

was just curious actually.. cos i love the paraffin wax on my hands and wanted to see the effects on my face.. and cos i have the full equipment anyway.. i thought i'll give it a go.. so.. the thing to remember is.. that the tempreature must be turned to the lowest and the wax must not be too hot..!! |

I used paraffin wax at college for facials. We painted it directly onto the skin without any gauze. We had to be careful as it runs like water very quickly down the cheeks and neck if you don't catch it. We then DID put cling film over the face, but twisted a piece over the nose area so that the client could breath LOL! It was a stressful experience I can tell you, but the results were lovely. My skin felt baby soft afterwards, but I have never used paraffin wax in my facials as I think there are nicer treatments to offer.

I learnt paraffin wax facials and they were used over gauze. This isn't for health and safety but for ease of removal,so it comes off in one whole mask.
It is a very nice treatment but I dont do it in the salon I work in neither have I done it since I left college. Temp wise it would be exactly the same as for hands or feet, but I would test firstly on your skin. The benefits would be the same as for other areas of the body. It's not to be used on people with acne Rosacea, broken capillaries or skin sensitivity. You wouldn't be able to carry out the treatment on yourself easily as ideally you would be laid on a couch whilst having the gauze placed over your face then having the wax placed in a nice thick layer over the gauze.HTH |

And also, make sure you use a good moisturizing cream under the paraffin. The point of the wax is to open the pores so that the moisturizer penatrates the skin deeper. Just putting the wax on dry skin won't really accomplish what you want it to.
