Wahl offer wet shave training, at their own academies and at wholesalers around the country, it might be worth getting in touch with them.
Also try Aston & Fincher Ltd Professional Hair & Beauty Supplies (look in their training section, under men's hair) and Salon Services Hair & Beauty Supplies (click Misc, then Training Services) - both offer shaving workshops around the UK. Our salon shavers are also trained barbers (they trained with Wahl), not sure if this is a pre-requisite but no harm in asking! Good luck, I'd be interested to know how you get on Andy x |

Hubby had a wet cut throat razor shave today from the new Turkish guy who has opened a barber shop up the road from us....I have tacken the boys there for their last 2 haircuts there, he's great and only a baby.
Hubby is raving about this shave so defo a gap in the market....he also set his ear hair on fire with cologne instead of trimming it...Craig was a bit perturbed about this part of the shave....but now he's nice and smooth and neat! |

It's also a nice way of introducing men to the whole concept of skincare, without the full-on assault of facepacks and eyepads! |

Those Turkish shaves are fab and i love the fact that its part of the Turkish mans daily ritual, and they have a good old gossip and cups of tea while they are in there! and best of all over there the shave, burning off nose and ear hair, shoulder massage and wash all costs about £2!! dont think we could manage that here though but would be great to do this as a regular thing for the English guys (but not for £2 obviously) Great idea x

Hi guys and in answer to some of your comments with reference to wet shaving and how popular it is now becoming there is a great training provider called ShaveSchool that runs a 2 day wet shave training course and it is performed on your business premises, we have used them and can't recommend them enough as demand from our clients was too great to ignore..
ShaveSchool trainers are very professional and their aftercare service and support is second to none. They bring wet shaving upto date bringing the traditional art and mixing it with the a new twist... I would be interested to find out if anybody else has tried them or have seen their website having recently looked at the site they have announced they are exhibiting at Salon International in October so we will be stopping by and thanking them.... |

Just the term 'cut throat' sets my teeth on edge!!!
Never considered offering this, I've always associated it with barbers rather than beauty therapists. I'm going to suggest this at work, as we too have had a sudden surge in male clients! Great thread |

I've had the pleasure of corresponding with the Shave School guys - really nice chaps, very approachable and they certainly know their stuff! Very highly recommended, and they have trained beauty therapists in some of this country's top salons and spas (in fact they were one of the first training providers to drop the snobbery that some schools have of only training hairdressers and embrace the beauty therapy market, so I'm a big fan of theirs!).
