there are new diplomas in the pipe line for schools they are called specialised diplomas and the beauty one is due to start next sept I would like to know your views on these as i am both a therapist and teacher and the dilemma I have is that these are to be taught in schools where at present there are no trained staff the 14 to 16yr old will not be able to work on paying public and will not have salon experience even though they are having 10 days work experience in salons but as we know this will not be real hands on stuff . I do think some will think they can leave at 16 with a diploma and get a job and maybe some salons will employ them thinking they are fully qualified please tell me your views here's my email as i am writing an essay on it and your views would be good to read many thanks John john@mcbears.demon.co.uk
