Hi Mat
I have used Clean & Easy, Hive, Mercia (which might be Hive re-packaged) and Salon Systems Just Wax. I seemed to have a problem with Clean & Easy sometimes where the wax would cool too quickly and would kind of dry on the skin. However, that was about 3 years ago, so maybe now I am much quicker this wouldn't be such a problem. I did really love the smell of Clean & Easy, esp the Hemp, however, I think it's expensive. With regard to Hive / Mercia, I think this wax is ok although the creme waxes I found spread a little thickly and as I think someone else mentioned, can be a bit stringy. Salon Sytems is my favourite. I am a pot and spatula girl really but I recently got my roller heater out to give it another go and I now use it on really busy days for legs. I can send you a cartridge if you would like to try it before committing to a 12 pack |

Hi - I have used Clean & Easy ever since it was launched and although I have tried others I just love it! You can refill cartridges which I have done sometimes but their original wax is the one I use the most. I did use to use the Azulene wax which was also good, have not used it for a few years so the formula may have changed. I also love their hard wax.

I must admit I've never tried clean + easy...must give it a go!
I've been using the roller waxes that Carlton sell, and the blue Azulene one is lovely...works well and smells nice. |

I absolutely love the Clean & Easy system. Have used it for about 12-14 years, but I can't stand their honey wax - it cools down faaar too quickly so you can't get the hairs out without having to reapply the wax.
I have tried many waxes over the years which I melt 1st in a wax pot, then decant in the roller refills. At the moment I am loving Satin Smooths Ecinaeca (sp?) & Comfrey wax. It has a really nice smell, not 'waxy' at all as it doesn't have the main base ingredient of most waxes. It doesn't 'string' & doesn't leave the skin feeling sticky afterwards like most honey waxes. Also, because it doesn't have the main base ingredient (sorry, don't know without looking at some wax pots) clients have less of a reaction |

So far trials have included the following cartridges:
Hive Warm Wax Hive Wax 4 Men Hive Cream Tea Tree Salon System Warm Wax Clean & Easy Hemp Wax Lots of wax, lots of trials. One of the problems with roller waxing is finding something that when applied doesn't cause too much drag / discomfort for the client. Hive Wax 4 Men is one of the worst for this, it is a lot thicker and harder to apply. The two best are Salon System Warm Wax and the Clean & Easy Hemp Wax. Warm up quickly and are a dream to apply - almost no resistance / drag. The SS cartridge is a slightly different size to the C&E / Hive cartridges but fits in the hive hand-held heater no problem. The C&E smells lovely and is a dream to use but is more expensive - £1.88 a cartridge as opposed to Salon Systems £1.12 (Hive are around £1.08). Decisions decisions! Mat |
