i have had a regular ring me back today and stated that her tan didn't turn out, she has been having tans with me for a while now and never complained. Unsure why now! please some advice would be great! i have had my machine less than a year, i clean the gun throughly and everything at least once a month, and every time i spray i clean the gun from the tan. My client likes her tan very dark and spray her with the 12% dha. thanks

Oh dear what a shame your customer is having this problem with the outcome of the applied tan.

Has your client had any hormonal issues recently which could affect the tan? Did it not take at all or did it go patchy?

Ok, two things I can think of off the top of my head.....

1. Might seem obvious, but had she recently moisturised?
2. Did you dispurse the liquid in the bottle before pouring it into the cup?

Hi i shook the bottle before pouring it into the cup, her legs were tanned the rest of the body wasn't, she had a shower while i was there so no she didn't have any moisturiser on her body. After i sprayed her she rang me and told me that normally she would see the guide colour when she moved her knickers this time she said she didn't. I have done nothing different to what i normally do and never had this problem. I don't understand what might have gone wrong. The only thing i did do was turn my gun down so i used less solution, normally i use around 40-50ml and was told to take it down to 25% gradually and i did that so could this be my problem? thanks

Cant see that as being the problem, I only use about 25ml per full body too and I can see the colour guide (Sienna). However, I did have problems seeing it with Tantrick for a while and I know others have been having the same problem..

I did ask on a thread a while ago about the very same thing and was assured that nothing had changed in the solution... perhaps there is a dodgy batch??

Not wishing to be seen to be pouncing here but I do suspect that before getting to worried it would be a good idea to get the customer back so you can have a look at the tan yourself....if she rang you the same evening I suspect the tan hasnt developed yet .

Further more if you have reduced the output of your gun considerably clearly this woman is going to observe less initial colourant to her skin than she would have noticed before.

Has she started on any medication or perhaps time of the month, i hear this can sometimes cause problems with spray tans ?? Other than that, I'm not sure xxxx

she did leave her tan long enough, i did her tan friday and she contacted me yesterday, i trust her as like i have said before she has been having tans with me for a while and never complained infact she usually praises me. She stated that normally she can see a little of the guide colour but this time she didn't, she cancelled a night out because of it and she is dissapointed
She isn't on new medication or no changes have occured since last time i did her tan.

It is frustrating when customers are not happy

When youturned your gun down the last time was that before you undertook tanning this customer...have you tanned other customers with the latest gun setting?..if so have they complained of the outcome of the tan?
in fact have any other customers complained ?

Gawd, bet you felt awful ! Never mind, I once tanned two people for a dance competition and forgot to do the insides of their legs - I didnt sleep much til I got back into work after the weekend thinking they would be sat on my doorstep !! Luckily the overspray must have caught it because they've rebooked in and were really pleased with the tans - phew !! :-D

Possibly there is, my EOS turned bright green after I got 2 tans out of it the other week thankfully just the remaining solution in the bottle and not on the customer!!! Phewwwww!! lol

It is hard to know if its something you are doing or if its the customer though, can you offer her a complimentary respray, keep everything the same and see if it happens again? Then perhaps spray someone else, keeping it the same, then if the same thing happens to the original lady and not the other person then its likely to not be down to you.


Sudden thought........Seems personal but was she on her period? This can affect tans too.

hi thank you for your responses, yes i told her that her next tan is free, as for her been on her period i have thought about that but can't speak to her till later so i will ask her 'as she wants to book me in on thursday for another one ' as for the solution i have used this batch before on her and it was fine so i doubt if it is the solution now. Unless its expired but i have had it less than a year so surely thats not the problem. Never had problems before like i have said everyone has always been happy. Its just this once. I sprayed my self on saturday before my night out and i think i have tanned a little not a great deal, what i might do tonight is have another go on my self well my fella will 'tan that is' then if i turns out alright i will then do her the complimentary one on thursday and i will keep my fingers crossed and see how it turns out, also before leaving this time i will check if the guide colour has turned out a little better as it normally does and last time it didn't. GOD i've got a headache lol.
